 Flower Power

The flower girl in “My Fair Lady” has nothing on Galloway’s Betina Sabbagh, owner and creative visionary behind Betina’s at Parkview.

From weddings to special events, corporate meetings to personal celebrations, this high-style boutique specializes in one-of-a-kind floral arrangements.

“Everything we do is custom crafted,” says Betina. “We’re couture, not cookie-cutter. We never do the same thing twice.”

High-end clients from Seaview Resort and Spa to the Borgata, from Ram’s Head Inn to area golf and country clubs, can be certain their arrangements are unique, a particular plus for brides who want their specialday to be like no other.

Weddings are Betina’s artistic forte, turning brides’ floral fantasies into reality. Whether working with preconceived themes or creating new visions, this talented and highly trusted designer and her staff have crafted floral arrangements for over 100 weddings a year, from New York to Delaware–always within budget and always beyond expectations—from a simple bouquet to a $25,000 extravaganza.

The floral budget is one category that is easily adjustable. If money is really tight, couples living near a floral-design school may opt to hire studentsto provide flower arrangements.

However, if a professional florist is preferable, there is plenty of room for compromise. According to Bettina Sabbagh, owner of the newly relocated Bettina’s at Parkview in Galloway Township, “Flowers are like fashion. Brides should ignore the magazines. Substitute roses and other orchids for expensive gardenias and mini calla lily flowers. Couples should allocate most of their money to reception flowers. Ceremonies are short, and churches often insist on keeping the flowers for their services. Hotels will let us use them in another room. For those who reject a venue’s standard polyester linens,

Sabbagh recommends colorful plain satin as a rich looking alternative. Choosing patterns and embroidered linens increases the costs.

Every bride and groom desires a unique wedding day, but no one should go into debt.

Chefs Dinner for PAWS (philadelphia)

Dear Betina!

A simple “thank you” is truly not enough for your hard work, and extraordinary table design, for the Chefs’ Dinner for PAWS. The rave reviews have been coming in fast and furious; several sponsors are already expressing interest in raising their support level for next year’s event. Some of the comments we have heard: “the most spectacular charity event I have ever attended;” “my table was like a tropical oasis;” “our table was simple, elegant and so much fun;” “I have never had food and wine presented by a personal chef in what felt like my own private restaurant; what a luxury, I feel like a celebrity…” and the list goes on.

The event garnered press from: The Daily News, ABC, NBC, WPHL TV, FOX 29, WMMR, KYW radio and more online blogs than I can list here. Pictures from the event will appear in Philadelphia Magazine and Philadelphia STYLE Magazine in upcoming issues but I am sure that the event and you, who made it so fabulous, will be talked about for months to come.

  Best regards,

  Dana Spain, founder and president

Nichole Maurer, executive administrator

And the whole PAWS team.
